“Bloom wherever you are planted”
———- ❤︎ ———-
For many people – especially those of you living up north – March is a month of transition. My eyes and intentions have been set on March the 20th, the first day of Spring, since pretty much the beginning of the month. And with the new season finally just a couple of days away, I decided it was time for a change.
Spring means rejuvenation and rebirth. It means picking up the slack that winter instilled in us. It means new beginnings and self-awareness. And I am ready for all of it. For the fresh scents, the brighter hues, the colorful blooms, the acoustic tunes, and the all-around lightness that seems to fill the air around springtime.
Because I am too overeager for my own good, my room already made the seasonal transition — like two weeks ago. Surprise, surprise. And since we are now at a more socially acceptable date to talk about Spring, today I am sharing my personal tips on how to bring it indoors. Yes. Even if for some of you there might still be snow falling on the windowpane.

- Fill Your Space with Lighter Scents. If you haven’t already, now is the perfect time to put away your wintery candles and any scents that call gingerbread houses and pumpkin pie to mind. (Devastating, I know). Opt for flowery, herbal, or even woodsy scents instead in order to give your space a more refreshing feel.
2. Spring Clean. I know it sounds like a cliché, but think about it. Sometimes there’s a reason why clichés are…well…clichés. (How many times can I say the word cliché in a sentence amirite) Take a couple of hours one weekend to clean out your closet or office space, and donate all of that which you haven’t really used in the past six months. Out with the old, in with the new!
3. Bring Some Life Indoors. Potted plants really do have the ability to transform your space unlike pretty much anything else. Hit up your local greenhouse or gardening shop for the lovely little greens. Or big ones, if that’s your style. Wink, wink.
Pick and choose between ferns, succulents, cacti, and other air purifiers to add to your living space. Create your own little arrangements, and have fun!
4. Invest in Fresh Blooms. If your flowers don’t scream “YO LOOK AT ME EVERYBODY I’M THE DEFINITION OF SPRING!”, drop everything and go get yourself some new ones right now. I mean it.
Nah, I’m just kidding. But nothing brightens up a room quite like having a bouquet of fresh flowers in a pretty pot. I have been making it a habit to go to the market every Friday to get flowers so I can enjoy them over the weekend. Watering them usually lifts my mood and my spirits in the mornings, so you know what flowers? I’m keepin’ you.

And that’s it for now! Turn up the acoustics and get to work, ladies. Have a very good rest of your weekends, and happy spring!
Until next time,
