Morning Rituals

Ask me what my favorite time of the day is and I will tell you, without hesitation, that it’s the morning. It is on those early hours of the day when I feel my most creative and productive and it is that ‘make it-or-break it‘ time that can set the tone for my entire day.

I have thus never been one to wake up 20 minutes before I have to head out the door, rushing and hustling and forced to skip breakfast. I have found that having a proper morning routine can prepare me for whatever will be coming my way on the daily.

Allow me to share how I have been starting my days out recently – hopefully this post will inspire you to start a morning routine of your own!

Meditation – As soon as I wake up, my brain starts thinking. “What time is it? Who do I have to see today? What do I have to do today?” Ya girl has quite the active mind! Starting this year, I’ve been including at least 15 minutes of silence and meditation upon waking. No phone, no social media; just silence. I often try to include positive affirmations and visualizations into my sessions. This has helped tremendously with my stress and anxiety levels and it’s gotten to the point where I feel off if I start my days without it. Have a partner? Cuddle up to them and try meditating together! Play some soft music, hold crystals in your hands, light a candle — whatever works best for you. Note: It’s easy to fall back asleep during this time, so feel free to set a timer to play it safe!

Celery Juice –  I have gotten into the habit of drinking raw celery juice every morning before breakfast. I have suffered from multiple allergies and food sensitivities over the last few years and have found that including this as part of my daily routine has helped. I can’t say enough good things about this awesome miracle juice! If you suffer from any chronic diseases or conditions, you should definitely give it a try. Reading – Finally, I try to dedicate at least 20 minutes each morning to catch up on my reading. It allows my mind to move in new directions and connect to my inner self. Don’t waste your precious morning time surfing the web or scrolling through social media!
